“When you make the two into one…,”

Today as we continue with our exploration of Book of Thomas, Jesus is answering the disciples about how they will enter the kingdom. Jesus said to them, “When you make the two into one…,”

Kingdom –  Monarch’s territory, sphere of activity, highest classification for natural things.

When I ponder the layer of meaning for “When you make the two into one…” What comes to me is when we can totally surrender the whole identification of separateness from Source, the two becomes one, thereby the ‘Me’ is ‘We’, a cell on the body of God. My Beloved Elder Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha says this so clearly when she shares, “Me becomes We, when we are looking up…” The wisdom of the Buddha sheds it’s light here saying, “It is not the shadow that makes the Man, it is the Man that makes the shadow.”

I can see evidence of our learned patterns of self denials, when observing something as simple as receiving a compliment. Owing to the degree of our brokenness, via learned behavior patterns, it is very hard for many many people to accept hearing something good about themselves, without the useless emotional addictions of embarrassment. As a mass mind we are so in fear of the greatness of ourselves and God. We have however accepted a false reality of being less than and with the “out there” entanglement we live with, the reality of the amnesia. Our knowing has become so corrupted its effects are much like what a virus does to our computer hard drives. Perhaps this is why Jesus points us to the mind of a nursing infant. “When the two become One.”

When we can celebrate our differences, as the many expressions of the One.

When the word Obey is removed from the bindings of a threat.

When the command of Self Sacrifice is seen as making Self Sacred not regret.

When our need for Forgiveness, we realize there is no debt.

When the need to be’ Me’ surrenders control and become ‘We’.

When we can look into each other’s eyes and know we are simply the same,

“Two Becomes One.”
